The Abu Simbel shrines are two gigantic rock shrines in Abu Simbel (أبو سمبل in Arabic) in Nubia, southern Egypt. They are located on the western array of Lagoon Nasser, around 230 km south-west of Aswan (approximately 300 km by road). The multifaceted is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized as the "Nubian Monuments, which route from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae (nearby Aswan).
The shrines at Abu Simbel were previously situated auxiliary down the hillside, in front of the Nile in the similar comparative locations, but because of the escalating waters of Lake Nasser, the original positions are now submerged. In the initial 1960's, every single sanctuary was prudently chopped into numbered pebble cubes, progressed uphill, and reconstructed before the water rose.
Archaeologists have resolved that
the massive dimensions of the sculptures in the Pronounced Shrine were proposed
to fright possible foes upcoming Egypt's southern area, as they journeyed downcast
the Nile from out of Africa. Now it has become a well renowned visiting place, where people travelling from around the world come to capture the life time moments!!
